Changing How I Think

By Divine Invitation

I would like to share with you a source of inspiration which helps me stop, find my way through the maze of thoughts, ideas and what seems like the complete chaos I often find myself surrounded by and immersed in.

Hafiz, (14th Century Sufi Mystic and Poet)  talks so eloquently of what I find to be, so often, the case for me. So many times I have had to be stretchered off the field of life to recuperate and lick my wounds in God's Ward. When really all I needed to do was surrender and allow whatever was going to pass, come to pass, without trying so damn hard to steer against the current!

So often I just don't listen to the little voice of my inner being and bash on regardless doing what I think is the right way, knowing full well, if I only cared to reflect and listen, I would see I was heading for the exit from joy into the wasteland of chaos.

Once again, ending up on that stretcher in the ward, where I go, when my head bleeds from its relentless banging against the brick wall of my personal stubbornness. Knowing full well, all that is required of me is to accept the Divine Invitation which is offered to me to change how I think. Especially when I realise all my worry and head bashing has proved to be so unproductive.

A Divine Invitation
By Hafiz

You have been invited to meet
The Friend.
Hafiz
The Great Sufi Master

No one can resist a Divine Invitation,

That narrows down all our choices
To just two:

We can come to God Dressed for Dancing,

Or

Be carried on a stretcher

To God’s Ward.
